Two Swims, One Day!
SwimSnowdonia is a unique charity challenge event that is new to 2010. Based over the weekend 13th – 15th August 2010 we hope to encourage swimmers from all over the UK to come along to one of the most stunning lakes in North Wales, Llyn Gwynant at the foot of Mount Snowdon and take part in two stamina swims in one day to raise money for The RNLI, Aspire & Cancer Research UK.
You can enter either a sprint 1.5 or endurance 3 mile swim in the morning then in the afternoon you can take part in either a 2 or 4 person 4 mile mixed ability relay race in the afternoon. This event is sure to test the will power and stamina of many swimmers, proving a fulfilling experience for all those involved. The day is not about racing either, the day about one’s own individual challenge, so the key to success is completing the challenge, not measuring how long it takes.
The day’s events will be topped off by barbeque supper and camp fires (weather permitting, as it is the UK!) but we are keeping everything crossed for it to be a gorgeous summer evening, providing the perfect ingredients for a day that you will not forget!
Although this event is will be a challenge, we hope that it will be fun too, as the swim is based in one of the most gorgeous valleys in Snowdonia at the foor of Mount Snowdon. The Gwynant campsite is situated next to Llyn Gwynant where you will be located within a few minutes walk between the swim and the campsite.
